Relief carving is used in many traditional and contemporary applications from private residences, to business locations, to art museums etc. I'm a big fan of several wood carvers who have published widely, Lora Irish to name one has several books on relief carving. Another name who has influenced my carving skills as I have watched him progress is W.F. (Bill) Judt from Saskatchewan, Canada. He is a great natural artist and I appreciate his development in wood sculpture.
